Employee Spotlight: Making Every Project Count with Project Coordinator Carsyn
Connecting People, Projects, and Customers
Carsyn has been with APM Steam for a year and a half, serving as a Project Coordinator with a focus on creating a seamless experience for both customers and internal teams.
"My role is to support both our projects and our customers to ensure the best possible experience from start to finish."
That means coordinating project details while working closely with multiple departments, including marketing, accounting, sales, and logistics.
"I make sure key information is accurate and documented before work begins, help monitor progress as projects move through different stages, and assist with the wrap-up process to ensure everything is ready for invoicing."
For Carsyn, success comes from making sure every moving part works together efficiently.
A Culture Built on Shared Values
When asked what has kept her at APM Steam, Carsyn doesn't hesitate.
Two things: our values and our people.”
She explains that APM's core values of empathy, intellectual curiosity, and pride first caught her attention during her job search. What stood out even more was seeing those values lived out every day.
"We talk about them often, reflect on how well we're representing them, and apply them in how we work with both customers and each other. That gives those values real meaning."
For Carsyn, it's this commitment to culture that makes APM different.
Helping Customers When It Matters Most
Some of the most rewarding moments come when customers need help the most.
Carsyn recalls receiving an urgent voicemail early one morning from a property manager dealing with a severe odor issue at an apartment complex. Suspecting the steam system might be the cause, the customer reached out to APM for immediate assistance.
"Having worked in property management myself, I understood how stressful that kind of situation can be."
She immediately returned the call, reassured the customer, and coordinated with APM's sales and logistics teams to mobilize a response.
"We had technicians on-site that same morning to assess and resolve the issue. By the afternoon, the situation was under control, and the customer was significantly more at ease."
For Carsyn, experiences like this are what make the work meaningful.
It was rewarding to step into a situation I could personally relate to and help resolve it quickly. And experiences like that happen all the time here.”
Always Looking for Better Ways to Work
Carsyn believes one aspect of APM Steam often surprises people.
"People might be surprised by how open we are to change and new technology, especially for a company our size."
Having worked in organizations that waited until systems failed before making improvements, she appreciates APM's proactive mindset.
"We're always looking for ways to improve and grow, which helps us address issues before they become major problems."
That mindset is reflected in her own role.
"A big part of my job involves refining team processes and improving how we manage and interact with project and customer data. It's about finding better ways to work, not just for our team, but for our customers as well."
Every Role Makes an Impact
Carsyn believes every employee contributes to APM's success.
"The scope of what we manage is significant, and we consistently deliver high-quality work."
Maintaining that standard requires teamwork and recognizing the value each person brings.
At APM, every role truly matters. We hold ourselves to high standards while recognizing the unique value each team member brings.”
Progress Over Perfection
When asked if she has a guiding philosophy, Carsyn shares a mindset that reflects both her work and APM's culture.
Doing something imperfectly is better than not starting at all.”
She explains that because APM is constantly looking ahead, change and improvement are ongoing.
"Being future-focused means we're often making changes and improvements in real time. Even if something isn't perfect, taking action moves us forward. Starting, learning, and improving is always more valuable than standing still."
It's a simple philosophy, but one that captures the spirit of continuous improvement that drives both Carsyn and the team at APM Steam every day.
